The multilevel inverters (MLIs) are capable of handling large quantities power and generating high-quality output voltages. Consequently, the size filters is reduced, circuitry simplified. As a result, they have diverse range uses in industrial sector, especially smart grids. input voltage boosting feature required to utilize MLI with renewable energy. In addition, number components attain higher levels, which increases cost circuit weight. A variety topologies been identified reduce losses, device quantity, ratings. selective harmonic elimination (SHE) approaches distinct lower order harmonics by computing ideal switching angles. This research presents nine–level Packed E–Cell (PEC–9) inverter that eliminate total distortion. calculate best angle, reptile search algorithm (RSA) implemented this paper, nature–inspired metaheuristic inspired hunting behavior crocodile. crocodiles two main steps: first encircling, accomplished belly walking or high walking, second hunting, cooperation coordination. technique, nonlinear transcendental equations solved. simulation was run MATLAB R2021b software environment. results suggest RSA outperforms other algorithms. Furthermore, result validated on hardware setup using DSP–TMS320F28379D laboratory.
